Windsor Inn Sprawling low-rise business parks and nearby Social Security Administration provide a built-in clientele for the Windsor Inn, a longtime favorite in Woodlawn. The oblong, U-shaped bar is a perfect perch for friendly conversation, strong but affordable drinks and cold beer (and the adjacent package goods store means you can take some liquid refreshment home with you). While Windsor Inn possesses all the ubiquitous sports-bar touches -- pennants, framed photos and TVs aplenty -- it also has a homey touch. Around the upper portion of the bar are hand-painted murals of Mobtown sports icons with whom the fans are on a first-name basis: Brooks, Johnny, Boog, Ray and Frank. Long tables near the bar are perfect for groups of co-workers, but the dark bar can quickly become smoky. A full menu is served in both the bar and dining room (steamed crabs are a specialty) and signs warn that a 15 percent gratuity is added to all bar tabs, whether they include food or not. Karaoke three times weekly.
