Situated in a much-ado-about-nothing neighborhood, this indoor/outdoor pub is best fit for beachfront property. While the interior tends to the dinner crowd, with two immaculately clean and distinguishably Irish-themed rooms, its Blackthorns outdoor deck that hauls its summertime weight. Poke around the side entrance and through the stoned archway, and park yourself on the deck among the outdoor bar and patio tables. (Claim one with an umbrella and avoid getting sun-baked.) Of course youll find Irelands alcoholic staples on tap (Guinness, Smithicks Irish Beer), but ask your server for a round of "electric lemonades." The usual Irish fare of fish n chips, bangers and mash and shepherds pie will fill a hungry mans quota. Stick around for evening summer music on the deck, and dont miss Sunday breakfast with Irish Gaelic Football on the tube.
