Club Abyss
Once upon a time, Sayrevilles two club superpowers were Hunka Bunka and Club Abyss. Both fought hard for the same upscale club crowd. But since Hunka Bunka transformed into a live rock venue, its time to declare Club Abyss the winner. Its been a rocky rise for Club Abyss, but its easy to see why this slick, uber-Jersey dance club is so popular. The secret is the sound system, and the DJs who make it bang: The top-notch speakers bump, most nights of the week, with house and hip-hop beats. The fancy-club tude is palpable. Drinks and admission are expensive, the dress code is strictly enforced and the in-house sushi bar isnt cheap, either. The young, buff crowd can be overwhelming -- doubly so in the VIP areas. But these are small quibbles, and unsurprising. Anyway, where else are you going to go?
