Friar Tucks Set in a residential neighborhood close to the fraternity and sorority houses of Loyola and Tulane, this house-turned-watering-hole seems to be popular primarily for its location. There is nothing particularly special about Friar Tucks, but its packed almost every weekend. The bar has two pool tables, two dartboards and a few video games. The kitchen serves up the regular bar fare of greasy sandwiches and french fries. The heavy duty wooden bar top is often covered with beer bottles, as locals come in to take advantage of the daily happy hour specials. Although most patrons are college-aged its a fairly mature place, even playing host to that occasional politician who wants to reach the younger crowd. When you've had enough of the noise indoors, you can always step outside on the front porch for a breath of fresh air.
